Need for Change
"Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything."-George Bernard Shaw
Sometimes I wonder what would have been things like if we still practice and do the same things we used to do in 14th or 15th century. How things will work for us if we would have been remained the same person we were back then. The answer is difficult and weird if we had been the same since we became civilized .So it seems we do need change in every aspect of our life whether its about the general growth or about the basic civilizing nature. We do need change and we do practice it.Now you must be wondering that why am I talking about the need of change when we are doing it since several thousand years ago, well we are practicing change with convenience of it rather than the facing the actual need and correct aspect of it.
I do agree that Indians have come a far way with respect to change in sluggish thinking but still we need to do a lot of work to improve our situation.I am writing this article just to remind you all that where we are lacking and where we need to do extra bit of work to improve the condition and be the change we want and we are dreaming of.Most of our population is still struggling with the basic need whereas other half in unaware of the fact that they are utilizing things beyond their need. With the current situation of our country where no news channels ever show you anything about the Northeast Indians, about their current living condition. The Indian news channels are only interested in the TRP game rather than providing real information about the country. Most of us are still unaware of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. These states are still neglected by most of us with respect of development and just acknowledging them as part of our country. We need to change this attitude where we are accepting the fact that news channels are even not a bit bothered by them or not giving them equal attention and providing information about them all over the country. Its not about only the news channels not acknowledging them its also about us being only entertained in some extraneous than learning about our own country. I feel this is the most important change we need to do.To know about every part of our country and then act on it.We need to contribute our part in our own country to do a small help which in result will be a change in a greater way.Right now states like Assam and Bihar is facing cruel flood conditions and we need to help them in any way we can. Change the attitude where you just care about the immediate surroundings but also about the parts of country which actually need your help and attention.
We also need a big change with our choice of vocabulary. In today's world where internet is easily accessible to everyone and with enormous free time some people tend to become the virus of the social media by becoming trolls. We tend to forget this that a line with foul invective written on someone's post or picture is as bad as saying them on their face. Just because you're sitting behind your computer or mobile and typing these things won't change the fact that your choice of words are hurting someone to a point where they're thinking of harming themselves.Internet bullying is as bad as doing it physically.Stop being a bully, change your vocabulary, be a little considerate with respect to others feeling .I am not saying that you can't criticize obviously you can and as I have said before we humans have the ability to judge others in a matter of seconds but at the same time what I am saying is just be careful with your words don't be harsh or cruel with anyone. A little courtesy and etiquette will make you a good person and will make someone's day.

Things are changing rapidly in today's time, where we see women coming forward in every field and marking their own place. But,at the same time we are lacking behind the very basic need in our country which is right to education.Today the female literacy rate is 65.46% where the male literacy rate is over 80%. The differences in literacy rates among the states are also extreme.By stating these facts my only motive is that we can change this.Yes,we as the citizen of this country can change.People who are blessed to have the basic need covered and may be having more, can change this. Our government is doing every bit they can and will probably be doing more. And we can also contribute to it by joining NGO groups like UANDI and many more or doing your individual contribution by teaching or providing the less privileged kid with books and clothes.Just a few hours every week with them and you are making a huge change in their life.Because when we provide right education to the coming generation we our building a country with a better prospect.Somehow we are strengthening our foundation and creating a country with a brighter future. So you see,a small change of your routine is making such huge differences in your surrounding and with today's situation where schools are shut down due to lockdown and COVID19 we should make sure that children don't miss out on their education.Kids with less privileges are not able to attend the schools due to lack of smart phones, make sure to help them out by sharing your extra one or maybe teaching them with proper careful measure if they stay near you. What I am really trying to say is that right now with so much time in hand we can change ourselves in so many aspects and be productive and can also help build something good.
Barack Obama has once said that change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.Try to implement this and see the change you were dreaming for.
